You back? Ok, yesterday my husband walked in with the mail and handed me a package. I took one look at it and did a happy dance around the living room. I knew from the return address what it was. Jennifer sent me a copy of the book!

I opened it up to see where my quilt was featured. Page 81! I got a whole page!!

She even wrote me a little note and signed her name at the bottom of the page!

I am so excited!!

I finished my quilt for the Four Seasons Quilt Swap 5 and I am excited to share it with you. It is always a fun thing to do a swap but for me it is even more fun when my sister is participating in the same swap. We usually talk on the phone prior to making the quilts and have a great brainstorming session. It is really fun to share that with her.


My partner picked Spring and yellow or red and I was really excited after talking with Tina about the direction I chose for this quilt. The whole monochromatic thing was quite a challenge but I was up for it.



Who else can say that they planned world domination while hand binding their quilt? Luckily my family was understanding that I had to make a deadline.





I made cheery yellow umbrellas with hand embroidered handles...


I just couldn't help but throw in a red one...






They say that April showers bring May flowers so I picked out a sweet floral for the back of the quilt.



I sure hope my partner likes it! I had a lot of fun making it and like every swap, I wish I would have made a second one to keep.


Here is the little gift I made for my nephew. I thought another sweater was going to be my second but this one snuck in. I guess it could be sweater 1.5.

Pattern: Baby Yoda Sweater

Yarn: Bernat Cotton Tots

Needles: size 6

Size: 0-6 months

This was fun to knit and pretty quick. My first sweater was a top down raglan with no seaming so this little sweater was good practice for me in knitting in pieces and then seaming them together. I learned a lot! I can't wait to see it on my little nephew when he has grown a bit.

The Best St Patty's Day EVER!!

I didn't know that when I woke up this morning and donned my favorite green shirt that this would be the St. Patrick's Day to beat all St. Patrick Days. I was working in my son's classroom when the office called over the intercom and said I had a phone call. What? Who would call me there? I picked up the phone and was so shocked to hear my sister, Ellen, on the other end telling me it was time. Time to have her baby!!! She invited me long ago to be part of her special day and I have been SOOO looking forward to being there. I got to the hospital about the same time that Ellen and Jim did. I got to be there when she got settled in her room, when the contractions got harder and more painful , I got to watch her get an epidural, I recorded all the stats as things progressed, I took tons of pictures and video, I got to laugh and joke with Jim and Ellen between contractions and after the epidural kicked in, and most amazing of all I got to watch my new little nephew be born. I have had two babies and it was quite an experience both times but it was totally different to witness a birth from where I stood. It was the most incredible thing! I am so grateful that my sister let me be a part of it. I spent the next four hours taking pictures and video and helping where needed. He was a few hours old by the time I got to hold him and it was wonderful.

Look at his cute little green hat the nurses picked out for him. My sister and brother-in-law named him Jackson. He was 8 lbs and 20" long.


I wish I had more pictures to share but this is all I had on my camera. All the good pics are on my sister's camera. I wish you could see how good she looked. Like she hadn't even had a baby! I will be back tomorrow to show you my finished 4SQS5 quilt and the little gift I made for my new little nephew.
